8. Honda S800

At number 8 of our best Honda sports cars, the Honda S800, a two-door two-seater sports car produced from 1966 to 1970. It was available in coupe or convertible versions.

The NSX Type-R is powered by a 3.0-liter mid-engined V6 capable of producing 276 horsepower at 7,300 rpm. Its high-revving engine contains a few innovative production technologies, including titanium connecting rods, forged pistons and the VTEC valve train.

With the engine perfected, Honda focused on reducing weight on an already lightweight aluminum-bodied NSX. The seats were Recaro carbon-kevlar seats, relatively light and straightforward steering and titanium reduction gear. In addition, all windows, rear window and windshield have been refined. Honda’s famous V-TEC technology was introduced in the first Acura Integra, and they also did not modify it for the Type R. This machine is equipped with a 1.8L B18C5 engine which produces 195 horsepower and can start to 60 mph from a standstill in just 6.5 seconds.
